A chara, - You published an excellent letter from June Rafferty (July 30th) which dealt with what she termed "the sale of Masses". The pith of her letter was that "monies and sacraments should be separated." I roundly applaud.
June Rafferty's point is so well made that I might now be deemed ungracious in drawing attention to one peccadillo: she states that "the sale of Masses is a common practice in all parishes." All? Surely that is mistaken. Surely there are some parishes in which the practice is otherwise. And there are people who can testify. So let the debate continue. - Is mise,
