Sir, – Browsing through Saturday’s Irish Times Magazine on Monday afternoon, I was delighted to encounter Gabriel Fitzmaurice’s beautiful poem Old Lovers. Not only did it perfectly express my St Valentine’s Day emotions (toward my wife of 45 years) but it provided the perfect Valentine’s Day card when I cut it out and glued it to a piece of cardboard for presentation.
