Sir, – In a very short time, if previous years are anything to go by, the colour of the countryside will be transformed from green to bright yellow as the illegal and noxious weed ragwort blooms all along our highway and byways. The responsible authorities have failed miserably to deal effectively with this predictable nuisance.
Would it not be appropriate to have lengths of roads sponsored by interested commercial parties in pursuit of the eradication of this noxious weed? – Yours, etc,
