Sir, - Mr Justice Kearns's decision to ban public access to the Old Head of Kinsale has betrayed us, our children and their childrens' children.
Anyone who remembers the Old Head in all her splendour remembers a freedom that came from wandering along the magnificent clifftop path, or down through waist-high grasses rippling in the breeze, towards the distant lighthouse. It was a walk on the wild side - and my God do we need these!
I don't play golf. Most of the public don't play golf. Most children, most poor people, most mentally and physically infirm and disabled don't play golf. The Old Head has been guillotined and we are bereaved. I don't know how to regain our access other than to ask Ashbourne Holdings Limited: Can we have it back.. .please? -Yours, etc.,
