Sir, – Anne Strahan (Letters, August 5th) remembers the last train on the old Harcourt Street line in 1958. I remember the last Howth tram in May 1959. I was a student in Trinity at the time with rooms in Front Square. The morning after the tram closure I remember waking up in my rooms to find one of the tramline signals resting on the mantelpiece. I hasten to add I remember nothing of the incident. – Yours, etc,
