Looking for a bridge to downsize

Sir, – In the Irish Times Weekend Review (December 9th), you have a very interesting article about downsizing in housing.

However, nowhere in the article did you mention that the banks will not give bridging finance to downsizers.

This makes it impossible for most people to downsize, therefore leaving a shortage of suitable family homes on the market. – Yours, etc,
