Sir, - Refugees are placed in hotels, holiday camps and other accommodation; otherwise, they would likely find themselves sleeping on the streets. As we have an international obligation to accept refugees, this is only right.
The latest figure for people sleeping rough on the streets of Dublin is 202 (The Irish Times, November 29th).
Do we have a national obligation to offer these people shelter? And if we do, why are they still sleeping on the streets? I'm puzzled! - Yours, etc.,
Michael O'Donnell, Ard Bhaile, Old Youghal Road, Cork.
