Glimmer of recognition

Sir,– Joseph Murphy (Letters, March 25th) wonders if, given the current precarious world situation, concerns about the importation of adequate fuel supplies to this country could result in the introduction of household energy rationing, and to the return of the Glimmer Man. The current generation could be forgiven for not being entirely au fait with what the Glimmer Man was; but I believe that to people of a certain vintage, he is remembered fondly as a gas character altogether. – Yours, etc,

PAUL DELANEY,

Dalkey,
