Sir, – Paul Stack should not be too concerned at gardaí wearing baseball caps (Letter, April 6th).
Here in the UK, the police are decked out Robocop-style, with the overt display of handcuffs, incapacitating spray, mobile phone, taser gun, truncheon and other paraphernalia which are not conducive to the provision of “service” we look for in the police. – Yours, etc,
