A chara, - It strikes me that in the middle of the Dublin North/South GAA debate that a more practical solution may be staring us all in the face.

Rather than dividing Dublin north and south would it not better serve the game if Dublin North were to be absorbed by Co Louth and Dublin South absorbed by Co Wicklow, thus eliminating Dublin altogether? This would immediately solve the problem while giving the "weaker" counties a fighting chance.

The cross-fertilisation possibilities of merchandising and advertising could yield enormous revenue potential, with the greatest benefit being served to the people of Laois (another "weaker" county), who could enjoy on their doorstep more GAA in a year than they have seen in a century.

The time for forward thinking is now. - Is mise,
