Madam, - I have just finished reading the monumental biography of William Pitt the Younger by William Hague.
Pitt was a brilliant politician, a long-serving prime minister who boasted a whole batch of great achievements. Yet his personal finances were in a mess and he was frequently in need of a "dig-out" from wealthy friends.
