Sir, - The terrible slaughter on our roads goes on and on. The hand-wringing and howls of "Something should be done" come from all sides.
A quick remedy is needed. The main carnage is at weekends. Speed is the main culprit.
Solution: Reduce the speed limit at weekends. There is no reason why this should not be done before next weekend's death lists begin. - Yours, etc.,
