Sir, – As someone who was around during the last experiment here when the clock was not put back, I think there was a very good reason that it only lasted one year. Going to school in the dark amid the morning traffic rush was dangerous. To those who say the darker afternoons with daylight saving time are a danger to children going home, let me remind them that the evening traffic rush is well after school closing time.
It may work for places further east and south of Ireland but not here. – Yours, etc,
