Sir, – Prof Des O'Neill, in his remarks to an Oireachtas committee, may well be right that there is (at present) "no legal right to die" ("Medics must resist right to die", November 30th), but surely there are strong moral grounds to make legal provision for such a right so that adult, autonomous human beings can choose the manner and timing of their exit? – Yours, etc,
