A chara, – I must commend the German supermarkets for their ongoing efforts to adjust to the cultural peculiarities of the Irish market. However, in the most recent ads, cordless angle-grinders are being offered at a rock-bottom price. Having been a cyclist in Dublin for 30 years, I now regard bike theft as an unavoidable form of local taxation and with such a machine being made available “at a steal”, I’m confident that the local “taxation” will continue post-purchase . – Yours, etc,
