The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – Bishop Eamonn Casey was one of the driving forces in setting up Trócaire in 1970. He was chairman of that charity for many years (“Bishop Casey’s pastoral works,” Letters, October 15th).

Trócaire has and continues to save the lives of thousands of people in the Third World.

I am reminded of Mark Antony’s speech at Julius Caesar’s funeral: “The evil that men do lives after them the good is often interred with their bones.” – Yours, etc,

DON HARTE BARRY,

Model Farm Road,

Cork.
