It is literally incredible 100% of the time, to be honest – and so on and so forth

What does any of it actually mean?

Sir, – I hear the Taoiseach Micheál Martin using the expression “and so on and so forth”. Despite being really annoying, what does this actually mean? – Yours, etc.

MARY LEE,

Newbridge,

Co Kildare.

Sir, – It’s very annoying to hear “100 per cent” all the time, which seems to have replaced “absolutely”. – Yours, etc,

PADRAIG CRONIN,

Dublin 18.

Sir, – One annoying expression is when someone says “to be honest” and then says just what anyone would expect to hear. The same with nearly all pre-sports match interviews. – Yours, etc,

PAUL O’CALLAGHAN,

Tallaght,

Dublin 24.

Sir, – “In no way shape or form.” – Yours, etc,

BILL COSGRAVE,

Dundrum

Sir, – Isn’t it incredible that literally everyone finds it incredibly hard to see the literal meaning of incredible? I find it unbelievable. Sorry, I mean incredible. – Literally yours, d’you know what I mean?

ROSE McNEIVE,

Tramore,

Co Waterford.
