Sir, – Sinn Féin’s recent statement that it will “explore” requiring registration from EU and EEA migrants that live in Ireland is insulting and another way of pandering to the far right (News, November 14th).
People with legitimate immigration concerns are worried that our laws aren’t being enforced, not that there are too many Swiss, Polish and Lithuanian people in Ireland.
My parents came here 18 years ago and have worked hard and paid their taxes and this is the way Sinn Féin wants to treat them?
Hopefully the people of Ireland see this policy as the desperate ploy that it is – nothing more than Sinn Féin trying to look like they’re tackling immigration without providing real solutions. – Yours, etc,
