Sir, – Ballyogan Recycling Centre in Carrickmines, run by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, is closed “until further notice”.
Telephone calls to its office elicit the response “we are unable to comment on the reason”.
I hope the voters in local elections in this constituency take note.
The country is awash with advice on how we need to improve our recycling habits and yet a facility that serves a large part of South Dublin remains is closed with no explanation or action by the local authority or Government.
Ann Ingle: Deliberately going out of my way to move for no particular reason has never appealed to me
Gerry Thornley: How about an alternative look at Ireland’s Six Nations win over England?
Is Ireland anti-Semitic, an outlier of tolerance or in the middle ground?
How risky is it to buy a second-hand EV?
I am led to believe that the council has locked the gates to deter an unofficial occupation by anti-immigrant protesters. If this is the case, surely the deployment of Garda or private security should allow the facility to remain open?
The lack of a firm response is deeply concerning and the complete lack of explanation by the local authority is totally unacceptable. – Yours, etc,
NIALL PELLY, Snr,
Dublin 18.
