Sir, – I renewed my TV licence last week. I availed of the online option, not having been aware of this facility before.
It arrived by post yesterday. The totality of the accompanying letter read: “Dear Customer, Please find herewith your new TV licence. J Brady’”.
In the climate of RTÉ's current financial woes (or even in simple appreciation) was I naive to expect the words “thank you”?
A little gratitude goes a long way. – Yours, etc,
Ann Ingle: Deliberately going out of my way to move for no particular reason has never appealed to me
Gerry Thornley: How about an alternative look at Ireland’s Six Nations win over England?
Is Ireland anti-Semitic, an outlier of tolerance or in the middle ground?
How risky is it to buy a second-hand EV?

Sir, – As I approach the sunny uplands that heretofore included a free TV licence, I must assure the staff at RTÉ that I am just in time to continue contributing (however meagrely and only slightly grudgingly) to their future funding. – Yours, etc,
FINTAN CADOGAN,
