Sir, – It seems to me that moving TV coverage of GAA games behind a paywall will change the place of these games in Irish society.
As free to air, everyone has a chance to watch all or part of the matches.
This means everyone has at least a passing knowledge of how the various teams are doing and it becomes a topic of general conversation.
