Sir, – I wholeheartedly agree with your readers in their condemnation of Emer McLysaght’s article (Letters, April 8th).
Catholicism is considered fair game but if the same happened to other faiths, it would be considered racist and identity-based bullying on the grounds of religious beliefs.
As part of the Stay Safe programme, we teach our children to be respectful of all faiths and none, so it is sad to see Catholicism, which is the dominant faith in our country, being treated with such disdain and disrespect. – Yours, etc,
