A chara, – The Minister for Education asserts that the now postponed proposal to have Leaving Cert students sit a “partial” exam in fifth year was to take the pressure off the students (“Where, now, for Leaving Cert reform?”, Education, Analysis, February 28th).
There is another way to do this: stop talking about the Leaving Cert! Phone-ins, helplines and so on are a help, but the media especially seems to crank up the pressure by completely overdoing the annual response to the examination. – Is mise,
