Sir, – Thank you to Róisín Ingle (“I’ve not had a good January. Has anybody? Maybe there’s no such thing”, Opinion & Analysis, January 25th) for highlighting the misery that January represents for many people and the relief when February arrives.
I believe the issue could be partly solved by changing January to 28 days (29 in a leap year) and changing February to 31 days.
That would bring forward the psychologically important February 1st by a few days, and so help to improve the wellbeing of the nation. – Yours, etc,
