Sir, – While it is correct, as your obituary of Derek Chapman (“Gifted stage actor who turned to teaching in later life”, December 17th) points out, that Chapman appeared in Michael Scott’s production of The Cuchulainn Cycle in 1996, he was in fact reprising the same role from a previous Cuchulainn Cycle at the Abbey in 1989, brilliantly directed by James Flannery, with music by Bill Whelan which distinguished and elevated the entire cycle. The cast included memorable performances by, among others, Olwen Fouéré and Ciarán Hinds. – Yours, etc,
