GARDAI investigating the murder of Tralee woman, Margaret O'Sullivan (40), have appealed for witnesses to come forward. Her body was found in her apartment off Castle Street by her 12 year old son on August 19th. She died from stab wounds to her back and neck.
Ms O'Sullivan was separated from her husband, Daniel, who lives in Spa Road, Tralee, with their three children, Oliver (19), Eric (12) and Vicky (7).
On RTE's Crimeline last night, gardai appealed for two men who visited Tralee around the time of the murder to come forward.
One man stayed in Atlas House and Slieve Mish Bar and attended Mass and prayer meetings in the town. It is believed he had stayed in Killarney for a few days before moving to Tralee. Gardai said he was in his 50s, completely bald, with a large build. He said he was Irish and living in England where he owned a pub. He wore a grey jumper with a shamrock pattern.
Gardai are also searching for a man who booked accommodation at Josie O'Shea's bar, Moyderwell, off Castle Street, on August 17th. He paid for his room and arranged for a breakfast call the next morning. When the owner knocked at 10.30 a.m., there was no answer. Gardai said it appeared the room had not been used.
They also want to speak to a woman who collected a cake from Rex's Bakery at Tralee shopping centre with the inscription Happy 40th Birthday Margaret on August 17th. It was Ms O'Sullivan's birthday on August 19th. Ms O'Sullivan was also seen by two people on August 13th as a passenger in a red Hi Ace or Lite Ace van in McCowen's Lane.
