A judicial review of the proposed Connacht waste-management plan may be sought after it emerged that a 35-page submission by Earthwatch to Galway County Council was reduced to six lines before it was presented to councillors.

Earthwatch, Sinn Fein, the Green Party and the Kilmovee Action Group are examining the legalities of the situation. "All submissions to councils in the west should have been sent to all councillors because it is a proposed waste-management plan for the province," according to a Mayo councillor, Mr Gerry Murray, who is opposed to the plan.
