Victim of fatal Galway crash named

The names of two people killed in motorcycle crashes in Galway and Roscrea yesterday have been named.

The names of two people killed in motorcycle crashes in Galway and Roscrea yesterday have been named.

The 36-year-old man killed in a crash at Carrig, Roscrea was James Reddington, a garda detective stationed at Donnybrook Garda Station. He was a native of Swinford, Co Mayo.

41-year-old Aidan McGee with an address at Merchants Road in the centre of Galway city also died when his bike was in collision with a car on the Headford Road at Curraghline in Galway shortly after 3pm.

The female driver of the car was taken to University Hospital Galway with minor injuries.
