Two men were remanded in custody today after appearing in court in connection with the fatal stabbing of a father of two during in Cork city on Saturday morning.

Jason Quinlan (28) and John Brett (24) were charged at separate court sittings with assault causing harm to 24-year-old Brian McKee at Ballinure Avenue, Mahon, Cork on August 25th.

Mr Quinlan, with an address at Loughmahon Drive, Mahon, was charged with assault causing harm at Cork District Court.

This afternoon, Mr Brett was brought before a special sitting of Mallow District Court where he too was charged with assault causing harm to Mr McKee on the same occasion.
