Two men were stabbed during overnight violence in the North.

Two men were stabbed during overnight violence in the North.

Three people were arrested after a man was stabbed in the neck during a late night row in Portadown, Co Armagh.

The victim (23) intervened in an altercation involving a friend in Thomas Street shortly before 2am when he was attacked. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police detained three suspects aged 27, 28 and 34.

Elsewhere, in Shantallow, Co Derry, a man (26) was stabbed several times shortly after 1am. He is in a stable condition in hospital following the incident in Drumleck Drive.

Police later said they had arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the incident.

Officers were attacked by stone-throwing youths during their investigation this  morning.

In Antrim, a dispute at a licensed premises in the High Street left a man (24) with cuts and bruising to his face. He was attacked with a broken bottle and received stitches in hospital.
