Spanish doctors completed the first transplant of a tongue and jaw on Tuesday, according to surgeon Pedro Cavadas.

Spanish doctors completed the first transplant of a tongue and jaw on Tuesday, according to surgeon Pedro Cavadas.

The 43-year-old patient, who lost the lower half of his face during treatment for a malignant tumour 11 years ago, was recovering well and could be released in 10 days, Dr Cavadas said yesterday.
