A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Two young men broke into a house in Kilcoran Avenue, Clondalkin, in the early hours of Sunday and threatened the occupants with a handgun.

They stole a car and two mobile phones before fleeing from the scene.

Hours later they were spotted trying to steal another car in Templemore, Co Tipperary and were arrested by gardai following a chase.

The car stolen in Dublin was later found burnt out in Tipperary.
