London - A "deluded" media studies student who rampaged through BBC TV's London newsroom in an apparent protest over television licence charges was yesterday ordered to be detained indefinitely in a mental hospital.

At one point Nigel Flack got within feet of newsreader Anna Ford as he threatened to take the station off the air and kill anyone who tried to stop him. Flack (21), who later admitted planning to "have it out" with the new BBC director-general, Mr Greg Dyke, was finally overpowered by staff.
