At least one person was killed and several seriously hurt in a pile-up of around 100 vehicles on Austria's main east-west highway today.

The crash occurred on a motorway linking Vienna and Salzburg that was covered in snow.
Several people are trapped in their cars. Some helicopters had to abort a rescue mission due to heavy snowfall.
