Sligo inspection to be carried out

Racing:  There will be a precautionary inspection of the Sligo racetrack tomorrow morning to assess prospects for racing.

Although the track is raceable at present, an adverse weather forecast has placed the meeting under a cloud and the course will be examined at 7.30am.

"The going is currently soft to heavy, heavy in places, but an awful lot of rain is expected by Wednesday," Irish Turf Club press officer, Cliff Noone, said today.

"If they get half a ton of rain, they are in trouble."
