Seventy people were reported missing today after they were swept into the Black Sea by water gushing down a mountain near the southern Russian city of Novorossiisk.

Over 80 people were swept into the sea in all, but rescue workers quickly recovered 10 people, emergency ministry officials said.

There were no other details of the incident or what prompted the waterflow.
