Russian President Mr Vladimir Putin said on today he would have no problems working with Ukrainian presidential challenger Mr Viktor Yushchenko if he wins a re-run of Ukraine's disputed election.

"I know Mr Yushchenko as I do the current prime minister, Mr Yanukovich," Mr Putin said at a news conference following talks with German Chancellor Mr Gerhard Schroeder.

"He has also been a member of President Kuchma's team, like Yanukovich, and so I don't see any problem," he said.
