Police in Belfast are investigating separate attacks in west Belfast in which two teenagers had parts of their ears bitten off.

Both victims, aged 19, were taken to hospital following gang assaults on the Falls Road.

One of the teenagers was grabbed by a crowd of youths on Tuesday night before one of them tore part of his ear off.

The same injuries were inflicted on the second victim as he walked along the road early on Sunday morning. He was attacked by two or three thugs, police said.

Detectives are investigating whether the attacks were linked and have appealed for witnesses.
