Pamplona - Hundreds of thousands of cheering, wine-soaked revellers packed the streets of the northern Spanish city of Pamplona yesterday to kick off the world's most famous bull-running fiesta.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an international animal rights group, campaigned to persuade foreigners to boycott the festival.
