One person was arrested in a major anti-crime operation involving up to 130 police officers in Co Fermanagh today.

Eight business premises and two houses were searched in Irvinestown and Enniskillen. A number of items were also seized.

PSNI Detective Chief Inspector Derek Scott, who is leading the investigation, said the searches were the latest stage in an enquiry that had been ongoing for several months.

"We believe the operation today has disrupted an organised crime gang whose actions have led to financial loss for a number of law-abiding people not just in Fermanagh but in the Republic and in other parts of the United Kingdom," he said.
