An article in The Irish Times on the 17th January 2000 stated that in the Nora Wall case a witness was called by prosecuting counsel on the instructions of the Chief State Solicitor, Michael A. Buckley, contrary to the advice of the DPP. This statement was defamatory and we apologise to Mr Buckley for the distress caused to him.
