A man has been arrested and is being questioned in connection with the death of a woman in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath.
The body of the woman in her early forties was discovered in a house in the town shortly before 11 a.m. today.
Gardaí in Dunshaughlin this afternoon arrested a man in connection with the woman's death. He is being questioned in Navan Garda Station and can be held for up to 12 hours, under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí are examining the scene this evening and have cordoned off the area.
The Assistant State Pathologist is carrying out a post-mortem, and the results are expected later this evening.
