Man dies in truck crash in Co Louth

A truck driver has died after he crashed through the central median of the M1 in Co Louth this morning.

A truck driver has died after he crashed through the central median of the M1 in Co Louth this morning.

The man in his 60s was driving in the northbound lane just north of the Boyne Bridge near Droghed when the crash happened at 11.45am.

Gardai say his truck went out of control across the central reservation and onto the southbound lane before crashing into a barrier.

He was taken from scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where he was pronounced dead. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact gardai in Drogheda.
