A woman was released last night from Garda custody in relation to a fatal stabbing in Ennis, Co Clare, that resulted in the death of Mr Robert Malone (28) early yesterday morning.
The woman in her forties i with their enquiries was released without charge after being detained for 12 hours under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
According to Chief Supt Liam Quinn, Ennis Garda Station, a file on the incident will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution.
Mr Malone of 11 Pearse Avenue, died at Ennis General Hospital after receiving a stab wound to the abdomen following an incident at 3.45 a.m. at his home.
The dead man and his wife had two children aged three and eight.
