A man in his 20s was the victim of a "punishment" beating in north Belfast last night and was later treated in hospital for his injuries, according to an RUC spokesman. The attack took place at Plunkett Court near the Unity flats, close to the city centre, at around 7.30 p.m. The man, who has not been named, was chained to a lamp post, beaten, and had paint poured over him.
