A man (45) has been arrested over serious sexual crimes in connection with a child abuse inquiry at a former Jersey care home, police said today.

The man was arrested in Britain late on Wednesday and flown to the Channel Island for questioning.

He is the third man to be arrested in the investigation.

More than 160 people have contacted police saying they were abused at the Haut de la Garenne home in Jersey during the 1970s and early 1980s.

Earlier this week, police found children's teeth and other bone fragments in the cellar of the home.
