NEW YORK - Ms Betty Shabazz (63), the widow of the assassinated civil rights leader Malcolm X, died yesterday - after being burned in a fire last month, authorities said. The fire was allegedly set by her troubled 12 year old grandson, who was staying with his grandmother at her suburban New York apartment.

After her husband's death in 1965, Ms Shabazz became an educator and human rights activist.
