Yekaterinburg - A statue of Lenin was blown up in Russia's Sverdlovsk region yesterday, the anniversary of his birth in 1870. Police said the statue was bombed in the early hours of the morning. In Moscow, hundreds filed past the Soviet leader's embalmed body, which lies in a mausoleum in Red Square. Lenin died in 1924.
