The jury in a male oral rape trial at the Central Criminal Court has been discharged after it failed to reach a verdict on the fifth day of the hearing.

The 30-year-old defendant has pleaded not guilty to falsely detaining a now 20-year-old barman in his flat and orally raping him there on December 14th, 1997. He was remanded on continuing bail for a new trial date to be set.
