Detroit - A judge has sentenced Nathaniel Abraham, a convicted 13-year-old murderer, to juvenile detention, rejecting pleas by prosecutors for a tougher sentence.

Civil rights activists including the son of the Rev Martin Luther King hailed the decision by Judge Eugene Moore to sentence Abraham as a juvenile, providing for his release on his 21st birthday.
